About

I'm Arkoday — a third-year BSc Computer Science student at the University of York, based between Coventry and York.

I work mainly in Python, in machine learning and data science. An early hands-on engineering education — including programming and operating a CNC lathe at WMG Academy — pushed me towards the applied side of technology, and towards machine learning and robotics. What I'm most drawn to now is biological and "organic"-inspired artificial intelligence.

Most recently I spent four months as a data science intern at Bluevia Health, working on venue-of-care analysis towards interpretable risk stratification — building patient cohorts, enriching them with medication and lab data, and running statistical analyses on outcomes like length of stay and readmission, all under patient privacy constraints. It was my first extended experience of real, messy, sensitive data rather than a clean dataset, and most of what I took away was about the preparation rather than the modelling. It also left me comfortable using an LLM command-line tool as a genuine analysis instrument.

I graduate in 2027, and I'm looking for graduate roles and internships in machine learning and data science. My curriculum vitae is also available to download as a PDF.

Leadership and awards

  • National Citizen Service, Westhorpe Farm, Marlow — raised over £1,080 for the Coventry food bank with my group, the highest total in that summer's programme (July–August 2022).
